Trade partners? Rockies have what Cards suddenly need

08:21 AM ET 02.25 | The Rockies, deep in starting pitchers and infielders, may have some answers for the Cardinals. Just this week, the Cardinals lost right-hander Adam Wainwright, who will undergo Tommy John surgery and miss the entire season, and infielder Nick Punto, who has a sports hernia and will be out two to three months. The Rockies currently have seven starting pitchers -- right-handers Ubaldo Jimenez, left-hander Jorge De La Rosa and righties, Aaron Cook, Jason Hammel, Jhoulys Chacin, Esmil Rogers and Felipe Paulino. Cook already is experiencing shoulder soreness. Paulino is out of options, and cannot be sent to the minors without clearing waivers. The Rockies' extra infielders -- Chris Nelson, Eric Young Jr., Jonathan Herrera and Jose Lopez -- also could appeal to the Cardinals.

beggars can't be choosers. Trade Albert to them while you still have the chance!

We aren't beggars..............yet! AP says he won't accept any trade this year and I'm thinking he means it!

Other than Jiminez, I'm not interested in any of those guys.

Better not to take too much Razor says seriously. I just laugh and encourage him to post more.

Jiminez and Chacin are the only two pitchers that are likely to make an impact for any team. The rest are pedestrian.

the cards need to just ride out this season, settle for .500 baseball, send Pujols packing and pretty much realize they are the next "cubs" of MLB. Until these idiots in the front office move on or sell the teamm, they will always be average.

Do you live under a rock? The current ownership restored the team.

After watching Cards pitching staff just get decimated with the loss of Wainright, why would any contending-type team give up starting pitching depth?

Unless, the Cards are ready to hand over Shelby Miller or Colby Rasmus, they have ZERO to offer the Rox.

Thank you. Even without Pujols, this franchise is in MUCH better shape than it was in the early 1990s.

the current ownership is probably the worst in professional sports--they are a joke. Anyone who lets the best player in baseball go to another team (when Albert leaves) will go down as the dumbest owner in baseball. They lose people/they dont replace people. You lose #1 pitcher in the NL, you dont look for another pitcher. The St Louis pitching staff is probably the worst in baseball now. When you rely on Kyle Lohse and PJ Walters for wins....you are in serious trouble. Carp showed last year, he is probably the greatest batting practice pitcher ever now (gave up over 20 homeruns).
