05:37 AM ET 02.28 | Auburn blue-chip defensive tackle Nick Fairley characterizes his style of play as aggressive, nasty and tough. And he defended his reputation, insisting he's not a dirty player despite a penchant for personal fouls and occasional borderline tactics. "I haven't really met with a team yet, but I have talked to the media, and how I've addressed it is everybody's entitled to their opinion," Fairley said today at the NFL scouting combine. "A lot of folks out there say I play the game the way it should be played. I hit a light switch when I hit the field and don't turn it off until I leave."

(1) It's Fairley, not Fiarley for the headline editor. (2) (for Fairley) Yes the **** you are a dirty player!!! You want to lose the reputation, then don't do it in front of the entire country in the BCS championship game.

Either way it's not going to hurt his stock.... Who wants a soft DE?

Actions speak louder than words.

In the NFL, that would have been one expensive hit.

By the by (or is it bye the bye?), MDWFTDC* scored a 48 out of 50 on the Wonderlic test.

* That is Greg McEroy's affectionate unofficial nickname. It stands for "My dad works for the Dallas Cowboys".

Vince Young should have turned in some of that physical ability for some brains.

Good point. Real hard to help your reputation when you rub an opponent face into the ground after a tackle!!! Fairley better not try that **** in the NFL or someone will take his knee out.

Don't worry son just stuff the run push the middle and absorb double teams. You will be paid to do just that. You will not be counted on to win any sportsmanship awards.

And watch out for your knees!!!

+1...Most of these "brats" are not stoooopiddd! I'll only add "excessive" to the coddling and I think you have the reason.

And it is definitely more widespread than VY and CN.
