06:29 AM ET 02.28 | Stepping in to halt the war of words between his new reliever and the pitcher's former manager, Red Sox manager Terry Francona yesterday declared a cease-fire between Bobby Jenks and bombastic White Sox skipper Ozzie Guillen. "That's over," Francona said yesterday. The Red Sox manager indicated he had spoken with Jenks and that he also sent messages "back and forth" to Guillen through White Sox third base coach Joey Cora.

I didn't think anyone could come across as more of a loud mouth tool than Guillen, but Jenks has done it. Is that a requirement for Red Sox relievers?

Agree totally on the first part. Have no idea what you're talking about on Part B.

Do you realize that a "closer" is a non-representative sample of a team's relievers? Apples and watermelons. They are cut from a different cloth. Both Jenks and Papelbon are closers, and they live off of adrenaline and pride. That's a desirable attitude for the guy who will take the ball when everything is on the line.

And that's where someone like Tito comes into play. His even-tempered personality is the equivalent of Phil Jackson at the Lakers. He helps make the egos play nice together.

Tito did the right thing by shutting Jenks up. It is bad form to disparage your former employer. Just shut the **** up and play ball.

Ozzie is Ozzie. You expect him to run his mouth and act like a donkey. That's the style he brings to managing, and to providing entertainment for the fans.

Ozzie makes himself look stupid enough on his own

The sports landscape is loaded with loud mouths. Big deal! As long they eventually shut up and play who cares?

Anyone remember the bad blood between Frank Thomas and Ozzie when Frank was traded away from the WS Champion White Sox to the Blue Jays? It went on for several press cycles, and neither minced their words. Thomas went on to have several monster seasons. He was obviously a great loss for the ChiSox. But nothing good can last forever.

Same play; different actors and different times.

All you need to do is look at the common denominator in all these White Sox controversies..........and it's not Jenks.

Agreed. Ozzie should just be ignored.

Jenks should shut his mouth and quit being a baby. He left town on a sour note and can't get over it. He sucked last year because he was out of shape. He still is out of shape and it's his own fault.

Papelbon has been known to run his mouth more reckless than most pitchers. Most top relievers let their pitching do their talking.

Not saying Jenks isn't a ahole, he probably is. But Ozzie is always fighting with somebody. If it wasn't Jenks, it would be someone else. This guy needs to shut up and worry about the players he has and not the players who left. Because Kenny Williams has given him a solid team who should win that division.

You are wrong. The bad blood was between Thomas and Ken Williams, not Ozzie. Furthermore, the White Sox did not trade Thomas to Toronto, get your facts straight. Toronto signed him after he was on the A's.

Ozzie did not instigate this, Jenks did. He does care about his players. His team likes him and enjoys playing for him. Jenks is just upset that his conditioning was called out.

What conditioning?

Exactly, these are less players than prima donna's and that includes managers.
