06:46 AM ET 03.04 | Sacramento now is no more than Plan B for the Sacramento Kings. Mayor Kevin Johnson said Thursday that his 40-minute meeting the day before with team owners left him believing that the team has its sights set on Anaheim, and that Sacramento's only chance is if negotiations in Southern California fall through. The mayor told reporters at a news conference Thursday that he does "not think Sacramento can influence the outcome" of the Maloof family's negotiations.

That's the truth. The last thing LA needs is a third basketball team.

gotta do what you gotta do. Much better arena. But is it a better market than Sacramento?

Is there more than one?

I think the only thing that keeps the Maloofs from moving them to Vegas is the gambling aspect. As a Kings fan all my life this is very sad but as long as they keep Kings as the name Ill still be a fan. Call them the Southern California Kings, not the Anaheim Kings.

Rochester to Cincinnati to Kansas City to Sacramento to Las Vegas not Los Angeles (Anaheim). Vegas could use it. LA does not need a THIRD NBA team. Go Figure!!!

March 4, 2011  02:32 PM ET

Stupid to even think this! I can see Las Vegas, but not another LA team....really?

March 4, 2011  02:48 PM ET

Those in the South Bay that don't want to drive 2hrs+ for an NBA game will go. And I'm sure the tickets will be cheaper. The Honda Center is a nice facility as well....They'll get a crowd, at least initially until they continue to stink up the show..

March 4, 2011  03:25 PM ET

Anaheim is 40+ miles from L.A., another world away with SoCal traffic...OC residents can take to train right to the door of the Honda Center...I would go if the Celtics were in town, but would never go to Staples Center...no good way to get there without investing five total hours on the freeway.

Sacremento Kings of Anaheim......

March 4, 2011  04:57 PM ET

Another day, another Kings moving to Anaheim thread....

March 4, 2011  05:05 PM ET

will the kings get the citys support???
will the kings get the fans support???
will the kings make money being the third team in town???
will the kings live in socal becouse of some new tax in Anaheim???
i think not and in 3 or 4 years they will try to move again!!!!!
or sell the team to someone else!!!
