08:36 AM ET 03.05 | Former Giants Super Bowl star Plaxico Burress is to get out of prison in June, after officials agreed Friday to shave about three months off his time behind bars in a gun case. A committee of prison-system staffers decided Burress was eligible for time off for good behavior, so he can be freed after serving about 21 months of his two-year sentence, system spokeswoman Linda Foglia said. With Burress' release date now set for June 6, his agent and lawyer said he's looking to return to football, and a number of teams are looking at him.

I'm sure he'll be picked up quickly once he's out.

He did what he did, served his time, and if a team wats to pick him up...so be itI don't see many teams vying for his services though

Agree with what you said except I think he will be sought after by a number of teams. And I would not rule the Giants out. It will be Reese's call. Manning , and others on that team have campaigned openly for his return.

I'm in agreement that teams will check him out. Afterall, other than making a stupid decision he only hurt himself.

I don't know....he's getting old, he's always been a headcase, there are tons of good receivers and he's been away for 2 yearsHe's not the physical freak vick was , I don't think the two cases are similarjust cause vick came back strong, doesn't mean plax willAnd I definately don't see the giants

He will be 34 just before the start of the season so he still may be an upgrade on some teams as a second or third receiver.

Coughlin said he wasn't interested, but the team says differently.

I agree, he was a great receiver for the Steelers but a PITA in the locker room I seem to remember it was hard to get him to practice with the team. I wish him well, he did his time for being stupid.

I hope he comes back to the Giants--- I loved watching the Helpless eagles try to defend against him.... Plax paid his dues and probably hasn't lost a step...
