09:01 AM ET 03.05 | When Devin Aromashodu finally got on the field at the end of the 2009 season, it looked like the Bears' long, often futile search for a big, playmaking wide receiver was over. Aromashodu had 22 receptions for 282 yards and four touchdowns in the final four games of that season , emerging as a preferred target for quarterback Jay Cutler. But the 6-foot-2, 201-pounder rarely was seen after the 2010 opener, and now he's free to move on. The Bears did not extend a qualifying tender to Aromashodu, a restricted free agent, according to a league source. He will be free to sign with any team after the NFL labor dispute is resolved.

Whatever the case, they need one solid go-to wide receiver and some serious help on the offensive line if they want a chance of going anywhere in the playoffs next year.

Considering Walter Payton is their all-time receptions leader, I don't think they ever have.

Agreed. Everyone knows this, except for Jerry Angelo it would seem. And he's only their GM.

And don't forget the O-line Jerry. Again...

The vikings regret that one. He can be had for nothing if they want him back.
