Leaf: 'Someone is going to kill' Avery

Wade Belak predicts it is only a matter of time before Sean Avery gets seriously clocked. Citing Avery's pre-game tomfoolery Saturday night as yet another example of why the instigator rule should be scuttled, Belak warns that the New York Rangers agitator is going to pay the price for his antics. "He's **** guys off," Belak said yesterday. "He'll bring harm to himself and not too many guys around the league are going to be sad to see it. "If he keeps this up, someone is going to kill him. One day he's going to say something the wrong way and he'll be clubbed. And I'm not saying it will be by me, either."

So do it and see what happens.

Players have been saying this for a couple years now, and Avery's still around. He's a tough little player who most teams would take any day. The Leafs even have a carbon copy of him in Tucker, and now they hate Avery (and Tucker is more of a whiner!). Avery's got skills, but obviously his biggest asset is his abilty to stir up ****. Belak said it may not be him because he knows he can't skate well enough to catch him. Avery will be in the league lone after Belak is gone

Yeah, go ahead and do it or shut your trap.

Avery does cross the line. You will hardly ever find a player who backs him, even teammates. I have heard from several players that Avery crosses the line and gets personal. That is why players get fired up by him. And, he is a first-rate turtle when anyone bigger than him challenges him. The difference between he and Tucker is that Darcy will fight guys considerably larger than himself. Darcy only goes 178 lbs., and that is generous. Check his record. Avery will never fight guys larger than himself because he is pathetic. Brendan Shanahan is a future Hall of Famer, and he knows how the game should be played. He even mentioned as much after the Leaf game by adding that he isn't a fan of all the yapping. That is a veteran's way of sending a not-so-subtle message to a teammate to stop acting like a 12 year-old and embarassing the club and its fans.

Hey Joec,

If you watched the game on Saturday night Avery won a pretty good and close fight with Tucker. http://www.hockeyfights.com/fights/37881

*Note the upper cut and tackle at he end.

And Eager is just a sad replacment for Fedoruk. He is on the ice more than the puck.
