Raiders moving on from Gradkowski?

08:05 AM ET 03.07 | Bruce Gradkowski's Raiders resume may not be enough to keep him in Oakland. Given the public endorsements for Jason Campbell as the Raiders starting quarterback from both Al Davis and Hue Jackson, it's no surprise that Gradkowski was not tendered before Thursday's deadline and had no talks with the club about a contract for 2011. Asked if he'd received a tender and at what level, Gradkowski said, "No, nothing," and said there had been no contact with the Raiders about playing this season. A year ago, the Raiders gave Gradkowski a second-round tender which paid him just under $1.8 million last year. At the time, Gradkowski was considered insurance if JaMarcus Russell continued to go downhill after being benched for the last six games of the 2009 season.

I guess being JaCarcass Russell's backup doesn't look so hot on the ol' resume.

Campbell's not anyone's long-term solution, either.

He should not be a short-term solution either.

Who else are the Raiders looking at for QB?

The Raiders just fired the guy who lead the team to an UNDEFEATED division record. The Raiders are not to be taken seriously.

Gradkowski had moments where he looked very good. He was also injured. If the Raiders don't want him, I bet there are quite a few QB-starved teams out there that will take a chance on him.

Cable loved Gradkowski and since Cable is gone, this is not a surprise at all. I do not believe Gradkowski is a long term answer for a successful franchise at starting QB. A backup is another story but not as a starter.

Davis got rid of Cable and now Gradkowski, both of whom kept the enthusiasm in the locker room high when Oakland was dragging its heels. All the players when asked how they felt about Cable said they loved him. When asked if they preferred Russell or Gradkowski they took the later.

Gradkowski is not a loss. Always hurt. Beating Pittsburgh in 2009 bought him another year with the team, because he saved Cable's job and Cable owed him. C ya.

The undefeated division record means nothing when you are 2-8 outside of the division.

Next year's out of division opponents will be mostly different team (particularly the NFC opponents). The divisional opponents will ALWAYS be the same...

This past year they had the NFC West. Can't get any easier than that, and went 2-2 against them. 2-2 vs NFC and 0-6 vs AFC.

I am pretty sure old man Stabler could win as many games at QB for this team. I feel for you Raider fans. Good team on the rise, crap QB. Been there and it is no fun.

Sure isn't and if Gradkowski could stay healthy he would be a much better option than Campbell.

Bruce is good against certain teams, but he tends to get hurt too quickly when he's filling in for someone.
He's a little too short, and has bat-down and arm strength issues.
