08:04 AM ET 03.08 | While one report posits that three teams are mulling a trade for Kevin Kolb, Arizona may be set up to make a good pitch. It's no secret the Cardinals need a quarterback, and they will consider every option this offseason, short of kidnapping, to find one. One alternative is via trade, and most speculation involves three players: Carson Palmer of the Bengals, Kyle Orton of the Broncos and Kevin Kolb of the Eagles. A trade likely would involve draft picks, and the Cardinals have seven this year: one in each of the first five rounds, two in the sixth and none in the seventh.

Alright...QB musical chairs and the loser gets a one-way ticket to the desert.

Desperate times call for desparate measures. What's wrong with kidnapping? C'mon, go for the 14-year-old who won the Punt, Pass and Kick competition. Yeah, Emily would look good in a Cardinals uniform, and she'd be an upgrade over what they've got now.

Forgot about the Cards, they are so bad that they are on-line with the Bengals. At least the QB has Larry Fitzgerald to throw to. That is if he is not in double coverage.

Kyle Orton is easily the safest of the three QB choices.

This is true.

I am telling everyone right now. Kolb ain't getting dealt for anything less than a #1. You can thinking the Eagles are overplaying their hand but the fact is he is much too valuable and affordable to the 2011 Eagles as a back up. UNLESS, you are able to draft a stud, to go along with the #23 pick.... and basically have the ability to put 2 starters on the field for 2011.

They will not give up that fifth pick in this draft for any of those guys.

March 8, 2011  08:38 AM ET

The Eagles and Broncos need to hold on their guys. Tebow isn't ready for prime time yet, and Mike Vick is number 2 on the "most likely to get injured" list, right after poor Matthew Stafford, the Amazing Glass Quarterback.

So, for anyone to trade for Kolb or Orton, they'll have to overpay. Even 'Zona's first rounder probably isn't enough. Orton is money in the bank. A draft pick, ANY draft pick, is a crap shoot. Yes, JaMarcus, we're talking about you when we say "draft pick" and "crap" in the same sentence.

You correct. Denver and the Eagles both need their security blankets. I personally would not trade picks for Palmer because I stopped believing the hype many years ago. Also, ANYONE Ol' Al draft is a crap shoot.

March 8, 2011  08:45 AM ET

Can this be done before the CBA agreement?

March 8, 2011  08:46 AM ET

No need to get so worked up over trade possibilities until they fix the league.

The last few years, even the "shoot" part has been absent.

Agree with everything you said except this.... The #5 pick would definitely get either Kolb or Orton. Easily.

March 8, 2011  08:58 AM ET

How about pick #17 for a certain WR with dreadlocks whose contract is coming up

March 8, 2011  09:01 AM ET

If the Eagles get the #5 for Kolb, wouldn't they then consider getting Newton or Gabbert?

If I were GM in Denver, I wouldn't do that trade. Orton's an NFL starter. Is Cam Newton? I would take Orton over Sanchez or Stafford, looking at recent first-rounders, although Sam Bradford looks like the real deal. Even more important, is Tebow an NFL starter, and will he ever be?

Kolb, maybe. He want to be a starter, and he isn't going to be unless Mike Vick gets hurt. So, the Eagles aren't going to get full value from him, and they MIGHT get lucky with that #5 pick.

Draft picks are important, but expecting any given pick, even a first-rounder, to net you a reliable, multi-year starter is a stretch. You might get a superstar. Or, you might get a turd.

Not investing $16 million? in Vick. That would be too much $$ invested in the QB

Never gonna happen. Never.
Kolb is not worth the fifth pick, neither is Orton. It would get your GM fired. Kolb has NO contract after next year. None. He is UFA. You gonna tag him at $18+ million ( wait until peyton signs and raises the average).???? No way.

NO.

Eagles need some studs on D or stud O-lineman.
