08:16 AM ET 03.08 | There were no dugout incidents this time, but Carlos Silva did not help his cause Monday -- though his manager isn't in panic mode. Battling for a spot in the rotation, and perhaps for his career in Chicago, Silva served up eight runs in the third inning of Monday's 14-13 victory over the Angels. In his two outings, Silva has given up 14 runs over 3 1/3 innings, not to mention instigating a dugout fight with Aramis Ramirez after complaining about shoddy defensive play. But rather than cut the cord on Silva, manager Mike Quade praised his embattled starter after the comeback win. "See you in five days, and he'll be better," Quade said.

Looks like the Cubs have hit rock bottom and have started digging.

QUOTE(#2):

How long do think it will be before Silva has a meltdown like Zambrano?

Wouldn't that have been the fight last week?

And he didn't start a fight this time, is he getting better or losing the fire in his belly?

"See you in five days, and he'll be better,"

Cant be much worse. Cashman and Wells looked good on saturday.

whatever happen to silva anger? i thought he does have great agression towards his own teamates,if that's the case he should be more pro, and use that energy on the right way when you are full of energy you should use it wisely towards the right target!

He's full of something!
Whether or not it's "energy" would be my question

"Quade still optimistic" - Mike Quade was offered the Cubbie manager's job, and he accepted it, only because he is insanely optimistic.
