10:17 AM ET 03.08 | Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti is confident striker Fernando Torres will end his goal drought soon enough despite the $80-million striker drawing another blank at Blackpool. He has now gone five matches, a total of 406 minutes, without scoring since his deadline day move from Liverpool, but Ancelotti insists he is not concerned. "We are happy about his performance. He is a top scorer and he will score, this is not a problem," said Ancelotti.

Mardi Gras! Torres was a waste of money at that price. Total waste of money. Chelsea could have gone to any Eastern European club a found a 1 million euro striker who'd score as much as Torres has in the last year.

As much as I tend to loathe all things Liverpool, I can't help but feel somehow, and sickeningly "good" for them that they are done with Torres, got way too much money for selling him, and can move on.
They just washed away a bit more of the stink that is Rafa Benitez from all that history they sing about.

Dzeko made a MASSIVE mistake in going to City.
Here's the deal with Shidty and how they treat their forwards- if you don't score a bunch of goals with them immediately upon joining that team, they (Shidty) are destined to go after next flavor of the week/month.
I realize that money talks so to speak, but he could have done so much better.

I saw Dzeko score one league goal that was ruled a deflection, I think and wasn't awarded to him, even though he really did score it. Otherwise, he is officially scoreless in the EPL.

I'm going to take this time in reaching this [sarcasm]important milestone[/sarcasm] to state for the record that in the past 36 hours or so, my brain has been infected by a common syndrome known mainly to soccer fans of English-language descent, and those that follow the English royal family through tabloids.

The whole deflection/own goal thing gets to me! If I am intentionally shooting at the goal and it glances off another player of the opposing team, how is that not my goal?
