All eyes on Gabbert's successor at Mizzou

08:19 AM ET 03.09 | In the wake of Blaine Gabbert's departure, Missouri's next QB has some big shoes to fill. Not that they want to heap added pressure on their new quarterback, but Missouri receivers Michael Egnew, T.J. Moe, Wes Kemp and Jerrell Jackson have informed sophomore James Franklin that all they want to do is double their yardage from last season. Considering that the foursome piled up 2,883 receiving yards in the Tigers' 10-3 campaign, that's a tall order. "We'll have to do twice as much," Franklin observed, shaking his head. Sure, that goal is pretty unrealistic. But the message is clear: Mizzou expects Franklin to step in as a worthy successor to Gabbert, MU's highly productive two-year starter who is skipping his senior season to enter the NFL draft.

It seems Mizzou handled the last QB transition pretty well.

So...When is Mizzou leaving for the Big 10???

About 1/5 seconds after they are invited!!

I totally agree. If I remember correctly, Mizzou started the conversation about conference reallignment (or were a close second to Nebraska). They thought they would get an invite the last time the realignment conversation was going. Nebraska did, Mizzou didn't....I think they are married to the Texas/OU party unless it completely goes away.

BTW, I love the Big 2+10-2 = 12. That is the best explaination of that conference I have ever seen.

Never happen, at least now he wins a conference, never ever would if he went to the SEC, multiple losses every month. LOL

But it may be the only way he gets to keep paying his players.

Mizzou is going to rule the North division year after year,, who's gonna stop em,, Iowa st, KU, i dont think so. Then again with no Champs game anymore, who the hell really cares.

Seems plausible except there are no divisions now that COC and CU left.

Thats my complaint. Give up Oklahoma to the North and we will confiscate Boise st from what ever **** conference they are in now , and you guy pick a team of your liking.
Then the Big-12 will be worth following once again. IMO.

Whos it gonna be to join the South?
