08:06 AM ET 03.09 | Dallas owner Mark Cuban was in attendance Monday to watch his Mavs hand the Timberwolves their 50th loss of the season, yet he sees better days for the Wolves. "I think [Minnesota] has a star in the making in Ricky Rubio," Cuban said. Cuban, who has a passion for basketball, said he has seen the young Spaniard point guard play several times. The Wolves chose Rubio with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft when he was just 18 years old. The Wolves are confident Rubio will play for them next season. But if they want to trade him, Cuban said, they'll have a buyer. "We're very high on him," Cuban said. "If they want to give him up, we're very interested. We would do that in a heartbeat."

I thought the Mavs loved their young PG and he was untradable

no matter how good rubio is- if you can not sign him his no value to you - cuban is saying to the rubio people - dallas loves you - come to dallas - what cuban is saying to the wolves is we will take him off your hands but we will give you as little for him as we can

I like to think this is a conspiracy to keep the Wolves searching for a long time. If Mavs really want him why in the world will Cuban drive up his value. In the end Wolves will do their best to hold on to him and try to develop him along side cracked out Beasly and Love to form a big three disaster.

Rubio is not that good. He will choke in this league and the better Wolves move on the shorter their years in the wilderness.

Someone please tell Gloria James it's lent so no sex for forty days and forty nights.

No need for drama queens, Bro.

Even though there isn't a contract I wonder if this isn't tampering? Guess we'll see.

oh, he'll definately come over-the kids only 20 and had a MASSIVE buyout clause, which I believe gets way more reasonable this summer....All the euros come over as the NBA is all of their dreamsnow I don't know if he'll be successful....but he'll come over

either $750k or $1m this summer, of which the Wolves can pay $500k.

the truth is that Beaubois is NOT a PG. He's a 2 guard. Everytime he's running the point he's struggling.
