08:08 AM ET 03.10 | On the same night Carlos Boozer was injured, the Bulls clinched a playoff spot in front of their most famous alum. Michael Jordan receives massive standing ovations whenever he returns to the United Center, as he will Saturday night for the 20th anniversary celebration of the Bulls' first NBA championship in a ceremony with former broadcaster Jim Durham as host. But there might be a few extra decibels involved given what His Airness said about Derrick Rose in a rare interview Wednesday night. "MVP of the season," the Bobcats owner said Wednesday night after the Bulls downed his team 101-84. "He deserves it. He's playing that well, without a doubt."

QUOTE(#1):

It's down to Rose and Dirk now in my mind with Rose maybe edging him out.

Man he is far and beyond the mvp...its not as close as you are making it out to be

Yep, when the True Lord of the Rings (6) speak, I listen! LOL Seriously, Rose does look like a MVP.

Michael Jordan = Lord of the Rings.
Lebron James = Lord of no Rings

I dont think Rose is the clear cut, im not hatin on Rose or his progression as a player, but the progression and achievements of the Chicago Bulls this year are more IMO because of the defensive schemes Tom Thibadeau brought. They are playing excellent team defense, the best in the league right now. It's not all because of Rose or Boozer.

I would vote for Dwight Howard, i think he deserves it. Orlando would be really screwed without him. Chicago would better manage without Rose cause of their excellent defence. Dropping Howard off of the Magic would have a bigger impact than dropping Lebron, Kobe, Nowitzki off of their teams.

Yeah its D Rose over Dirk, Lebron, and Amare. Where would the bulls be without Rose?

Kobe Bryant is the real MVP!

March 10, 2011  08:56 AM ET

And so Jordan has spoken

March 10, 2011  08:57 AM ET

He deserves it, especially if he can keep this team hot with Booze hurt again.

How bad is that? I saw the fall....

March 10, 2011  09:06 AM ET

Rose is the MVP this year for sure. Kobe is always in the running but. Compare Stats and they are both about the same in almost every cat. this year. EXCEPT ... Kobe's assists =4.8
Rose assists = 8.1

Rose makes his team better every night.

QUOTE(#11):

Dont worry about Amare....Im surprised you did 'nt name Lebron as the MVP the way you were fawning all over him yesterday

Hey, i didn't say anything bad about the Knicks. Rose kept this team playing at a high level without boozer and noah

Assists aren't the tell all stat for making people better. Rose is a point guard and Kobe isn't
