Dolphins souring on Lemon

Cam Cameron might be souring on Cleo Lemon. For the first time since midway through the exhibition season the Dolphins' head coach expressed uncertainty about which quarterback he'll start for Sunday's game at Philadelphia. Cameron addressed his two quarterbacks on Monday and told each he had a decision to make -- stick with Lemon for the veteran's fifth start of the season or allow rookie John Beck to start in his NFL debut.

i hope Cam gives Beck a chance.....he can't do any worse than Lemon (or at least i hope not).

9 losses, unwritten nfl rule kicks in now. miami will start beck to see what he has and decide if they are drafting a qb next year.

Please start Beck. I can't stand any more bad puns and word plays based on "lemon".

Cam-Cam may prove to be a wily dude. This season is toast, but if he saves Beck, he can start him next year. Then when the team is 0-16 again, he can say it was because of a first-year QB, and "wait 'til next year". This ploy will get him 2 more years. Or not.

Quick, who'd win between U. Miami and Miami Dolphins? That's a tough one.

Time to start the kid already!!!

They are going to have the number 1 pick in the draft next year. They need to find out if they are going to use it on a QB or another position. You know Cleo isn't going to get it done, see if Beck can.

The U ain't that great this year, but then again, they DO have a quarterback... you're right, tough choice.

When life gives you Lemons, find someone whose life has given them Vodka and throw a party.

November 13, 2007  10:06 AM ET

When you are given lemons, you make lemonade. When you are given Cleo Lemon, you start another QB! News flash, you suck Miami! You drafted Beck so let's see what he can do. You are going to need 2-3 years to get anywhere anyway, so let's get this rebuilding started!

November 13, 2007  10:13 AM ET

If his parents hated him enough as a child to name him 'Cleo' is it really his fault that he has issues?

November 13, 2007  10:40 AM ET

stipid dophins should have drafted BRADY QUINN instead of ginn jr then maybe they would not have 9 losses....dumb ****

November 13, 2007  10:56 AM ET

After 3 losses in a row, I would've canned the lemon. How does Cam justify such stupidity.I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree, but even I know that if your QB is stinking up the joint , you send him packing.Get with it ****!

November 13, 2007  10:58 AM ET

oh come on...you give trent green the chance and now your ready for beck?...it still doesnt pay to be black in the NFL...I sure hope cleo lemon gets a real chance

November 13, 2007  11:02 AM ET

give the kid the ball and let him learn what the nfl is about behind a makeshift offensive line that will leave him on his back after every snap.

November 13, 2007  11:18 AM ET

Two words, Colt Brennan.

November 13, 2007  12:47 PM ET

I think Miss Cleo can see this Lemons future, the bench. How bout that play on words? One word: Awful!

November 13, 2007  01:02 PM ET

Cleo is a great name for a cat, no matter its color... too bad he is a quarterback...

Cleo... kitty, kitty, kitty....

November 13, 2007  01:18 PM ET

Did the Dolphins have a QB name Culpepper? Did they cut him for a guy that had concussion problems in a sport where the likelyhood of one's helmet hitting another helmet is great?

if i was the coach id wait a few more games...they have been in more than a couple games, their bound to win one here pretty quick. id get a win out of the way first and then change. going 0-16 is not really an option in my opinion
