Cubs eyeing Michael Young

09:59 AM ET 03.13 | If the Cubs could get some salary relief from the Rangers, a Michael Young deal could be made, with Chicago shifting him to second base. He's not that good there (or anywhere in the field), but the Cubs don't have a plethora of talent at the position in Blake DeWitt and Jeff Baker

Young would already be elsewhere if
Texas was willing to provide salary relief.

The Cubbies "don't have a plethora of talent" is all that really needed to be said.

What kind of shot is that... 'He's not that good there (or anywhere in the field)"... you know he won a gold glove in 08, cause they just give those out to horrible fielders, guy may not be great but he's probably at least average.

Gold gloves are meaningless.

Sad, but true.....

Good thing my Metsies have a plethora of average talent at 2B that we don't need someone like Young there. We already have a good shot at third place, so management is pleased and optimistic.

i still haven't figured out why rangers got beltre , when over his career young has been more consist ant. also both committed 19 errors.

March 13, 2011  02:01 PM ET

young has been going to another teams for the longest, even when young himself has express unhappiness with the rangers, still young remains in texas uniform and if the rangers really want to trade him they should have done long time ago, any team can say whatever they feel like it, at the end young will stay with the rangers till the team gets tired enough from young inhappiness!!

....Better yet, why doesn't Texas just bite the bullet and make it work?

Cuz they don't really want to trade him. They want him as their DH and back-up infielder. And they are surely not going to eat any of his salary unless they get an offer they can't refuse, which I doubt anyone will make for him.

Pink eyeing him? Brown eyeing him? Stank eyeing him?
