10:26 AM ET 03.13 | Kirk Herbstreit and his family moved out of central Ohio yesterday, a change that the ESPN college football analyst said he had pondered for three years. Herbstreit said the move to Nashville, Tenn., was because of the constant criticism he has received from a vocal minority of Ohio State fans who don't understand that his job at the network demands objectivity and fairness.

Poor Kirk

It has nothing to do with tOSU situation. ESPN requires their analyst to live within the boundaries of the SEC since it has invested so much money in it. (Side note: some will now have to relocate to Austin.)

Poor little fellar. He was just a boy.

March 13, 2011  10:41 AM ET

Is he safer in Nashville?

March 13, 2011  10:42 AM ET

Good riddance.

Objectivity and Fairness from ESPN announcers...Now that's funny...

March 13, 2011  10:47 AM ET

I agree his job at ESPN demands objectivity and fairness and he has tried to bring that to his broadcast segments. He's one of the guys I like because at least I can understand him when he speaks.

However when is the last time ESPN -- the network -- attempted to remain objective? They have become so over-the-top promo-pimp happy that the only time I enjoy watching is during games. It's like watching TMZ if it's not a game.

In the recent reports, has any named individual associated with OSU, such as the Pres, AD, coach, lawyer source, etc, exhibited common sense and integrity?

Very good point there Zeeker.

How does moving help? Was the vocal minority camped on his front lawn?

Ohio State University and its fans have sunk to a new low never before attained by a university. The honorable thing to do would be for the athletic director to fire Tressel and throw out the offending players but because of money this is unlikely to happen.

Tressell wont have to move. The last two coaches at OSU(Earle Bruce and John Cooper) have offices at OSU;and still live in the community.
