Panthers QB a lockout winner?

08:07 AM ET 03.14 | There may be one winner in the lockout: QBs on the hot seat. Clearly no one wins in the NFL's current labor mess -- except the lawyers -- but Carolina Panthers quarterback Matt Moore could get the time he needs to compete for a job again. Moore, in the early stages of throwing as he comes back from shoulder surgery, was tendered a contract by the Panthers this month. He could hang around to compete if the lockout drags on and the Panthers can't upgrade in free agency or via trade. The draft could obviously allow them to bring in a player such as Cam Newton, but at the moment, Moore's still the most experienced quarterback on the roster, which also features Jimmy Clausen, Tony Pike and Keith Null.

It is kinda refreshing to see the word "winner" in a headline related to the Panthers, even if they did have to reach pretty hard to make it happen.
