Raptors already thinking about UNC's Barnes

08:08 AM ET 03.15 | While it may be a bit premature, reality will soon find the Raptors thinking about next year. As March Madness tips off, the maddening process of projecting college players into pro prospects begins. No player will be watched more closely than North Carolina's Harrison Barnes, a freshman small forward who is as electric as any wing in the NCAA. If this kid comes out of school and if the Raptors somehow win the lottery, he'd be the perfect face for a faceless franchise. Imagine the possibilities with Barnes, Ed Davis and DeMar DeRozan.

Colangelo must go first. He's been riding on his father's coat tails.

Barnes has been disappointing from the hype he received....but he has proven to be a clutch shooter. The only real true big man will be Sullinger who could be like a Carlos Boozer- Enes Kanter woudl have benefited from seeing him in college. Perry Jones is 6 foot 11 but wants to be a 2-3.

Not a very good draft according to the experts.

Great. The Knicks don't have a first round pick anyway so I'm extremely happy with the field coming out. I only hope it continues.

There is talk of Irving being 1.01 ....which indicates that a guy who played 4 weeks of college bball is better than guys that have played whole seasons. I'm sure teams will just yell for Jimmer and you are just getting mainly rotation players and a few potential starters -no real franchise changer

Maybe in 2012. No NBA next year.

QUOTE(#15):

Personally I think Jimmer has an amazing potential to be the 2011 Adam Morrison. I don't see him being all that in the NBA.

I hope he succeeds some say Adam Morrison some say Curry....I say something inbetween - the key is him being able to be a point guard in the pros. If not he won't have a position. He also played defense once in his life.....but that was in video games

QUOTE(#5):

While I do agree a big would be good....are there any franchise changing bigs availabe?

maybe Enes Kanter 6'11" 270 from Turkey .... was going to go to Kentucky, till the NCAA rule him ineligible to play cause of his Turkish team giving him money for a college fund. ...

Would fit right in with Toronto International roster Alexis Ajinca, Solomon Alabi, Barbosa,
Bargnani, Calderon, and Linas Kleiza

March 15, 2011  09:30 AM ET

you need a big guy...
and btw... no one cares about canadian basketball

the Knick do have a First round pick this year ..... because last year pick when to UTAH, it could only Swap picks this year with Houston ... and Houston unless it makes the playoffs, 3 wins out of the 8th seed in the West, it is not going happen. ... Knicks pick would be about 17th ....

Pick for 2012 does go to Houston, it is top 5 protected in 2012, top 5 protected in 2013, top 5 protected in 2014, and top 5 protected in the 2015 Draft .... but unless Amare & Melo go down its the 2012 pick....

And then Denver gets the 2014 pick, or the next available pick ....
