08:05 AM ET 03.18 | It didn't take one analyst long to sum up his thoughts on Blaine Gabbert's pro day. NFL Network chief draft analyst Mike Mayock rendered his verdict on QB Blaine Gabbert following Missouri's pro day Thursday. "Bottom line, he's the first quarterback off the board, and it wouldn't surprise me if Carolina takes him at No. 1," Mayock said on Path to the Draft. The Panthers have been scrutinizing Heisman Trophy winner Cam Newton in recent weeks and are admittedly considering a quarterback with the draft's first selection. New Carolina coach Ron Rivera did not attend Missouri's pro day, however the Panthers are scheduled to work Gabbert out privately this weekend. Gabbert has had dinners with the Bills and Vikings this week as well.

Carolina does not need another QB, they drafted two last year.

Gabbert will go lower in the draft.

Don't be so sure.

this much flux right before the draft with quarterbacks indicate one thing.....uncertainty
there's no clear cut #1 gotta have QB...

Gabbert will be praying every day that Carolina doesn't draft him.

Just like Detroit is a wasteland for WRs.

Agree. 2nd round.

He needs to go to a team that truly needs a QB, not just one that's looking to stockpile.

Dinner with the Vikings? Was it a dinner cruise? And dinner with the Bills was probably takeout, unless Ralph has changed his frugal ways.

Since the owners have locked out the players, the players have decertified their union, and the NFL currently does not exist, how can teams take recruits out to dinner and see them work out?

The same could be said for Arizona.

Dinner with the Bills was they invited him over, but only after he bought the groceries and cooked the dinner.

Most teams that really need a QB are teams he might not want to go to.
