Eagles: Teams are calling about Kolb

08:33 AM ET 03.19 | Andy Reid confirmed what has been widely speculated since last offseason: Other NFL teams are interested in Kevin Kolb. The Eagles' willingness to trade Kolb will essentially come down to the offer. If Reid can get a first-round pick in return it would give the Eagles two - they already have the No. 23 selection - and plenty of maneuverability to perhaps move up and grab a top player, such as Nebraska cornerback Prince Amukamara.

I see a lot of them wanting him, but who will pay the price?

They want at least a first rounder, and considering he was drafted in the second round, and hasn't proven much of anything, I see the Eagles eventually having to lower their asking price.

They would be better off just cutting their losses with Kolb if they can't trade him.

It would help their cap.

They already have Vick, if he gets hurt they have Mike Katka. (I should have said "When" he gets hurt.)

Yes it would, they never should have drafted him.

can the Eagles even trade a player in a Lockout? ..... NO ...
There is no collective bargaining agreement between the owners and players, and until there is, player movement won't be allowed. ....

They better have a bunch of backups for Vick, Defenses will be ready for him this year, and it may not be pretty

And that is why Kolb is going nowhere.
Other than the bad news about Steve Sabol, it appears that recycling will be in full blown mode on the NFL threads today.

What is his cap? I thought he had a low-ish salary.

Are you saying release him outright if the Eagles can't trade him? Why?

Personally, I would rather have Kolb over Vick. Better long term investment. Getting a #1 and a 4th rounder would be fair.

I agree; something tells me Vick is just a flash in the pan, I don't think he is a long term franchise quarterback. (Kordette Stewart comes to mind) The Eagles may need a Plan B
