Is 'Bones' Jones too cocky?

No reason to have a weak attitude when going into a fight. Confidence is half the battle.

Leave it to the Toronto Sun... have they even watched anything about Jones? He isn't cocky, he is confident in his skills, and he works as hard as anyone else. He's doing well and he is working hard at it... he deserves to be confident and not wishy washy when it comes to the fact that he can and will take the title.

In my 8 years of following the UFC, I've never seen such a dominant performance as I did on Saturday night. Shogun is a very good fighter, but Jones outclassed him in every way. He was definitely on a different level. I don't see this kid losing in the next few years.

It's not cocky if you back it up. At that point it becomes fact. He did everything he said he was going to do. He signed autographs all week as 2011 champion. He backed it up. Evans should have gone to the MW or HW divisions. If he got geeked fighting Machida, Bones is going to all but kill him.

If you walk in an MMA right and you are not confident in your fighting ability, you should not be in there.

I watched it ....He dominated that fight from start to finish. Period.

With Jones now patrolling the LH division, the odds of Silva trying to go up for competition just got less likely.

All you need in MMA/UFC is a little skills......then you are automatically ahead of the pack......I swear some of these guys look like backyard brawlers.........

He sure beat the living **** out of Rua. Shogun did nothing the whole time except take a beating...it was that dominant.
Jones is not cocky...he's 23 and instantly in the same group as GSP and Silva as fighters without any real challengers.

I really don't see any light-heavyweight out there that would beat Jones, let alone last to the 4th round.

Rashad Evans didn't look too thrilled to be the first challenger...and I don't think it has anything to do with them being 'friends'. I wouldn't be surprised if Evans comes up with another "illness" or "injury". Jones would kill him.

i doubt Rashad will back out, but it doesn't look good for him. Jones is just so much bigger than the competition, most LHW are aroudn 6-1 with 75 in. reach. Jones is 6-4 and 84 in reach, Rua looked like a different weight class next to him. Only guy I see having a good shot at beating him is actually Phil Davis. 4-0 in UFC, not as big a disadvantage in size and very good wrestling to counter Jones' striking.

the man has great confidence, and you need a little bit of cockiness to go with it...

GSP will hand him his ass.
