08:02 AM ET 03.21 | Ron Rivera's draft possibilities may seem endless. In reality, though, the list is probably much shorter and is likely be narrowed down to Cam Newton, Blaine Gabbert, Patrick Peterson, Nick Fairley, Marcell Dareus and Da'Quan Bowers. "I think it is a tough call because there are so many good quality players," Rivera said. ... "The player you get is going to make you better. What we have to decide is not just the position, but what makes us better as a team." Rivera said he wouldn't place Gabbert and Newton on a different level than Ryan Mallett. "I wouldn't necessarily say that," Rivera said. "Because as far as throwing the ball, you've really got to evaluate each guy's strengths and weaknesses. And the other thing: There's other positions were looking at, too."

Looks like they can forget about defense, Carolina is the new place for careers to die.

They don't need another QB, they have too many as it is.

Isn't Ron Rivera the cheap doctor dude from the Simpson's?

March 21, 2011  08:13 AM ET

Of course he does, but Manning, Brees and Brady are already taken.

Another case of a team that can't figure out what makes sense.

It's nice to have favorites.

It seems that Carolina is the place not to be for NFL careers, Oakland has relinquished the crown.

He's got nothing on Jon Gruden.

He is saying , " I don't want to go first, please call me now." My owner is very afraid he will have to pay that first pick the most, and that bothers him greatly.

1)Carolina is picking first so why why wouldn't his draft possibilities be "legitimately endless"
2)"The player you get is going to make you better. What we have to decide is not just the position, but what makes us better as a team." Now that is a novel approach to the draft-why are you telling this to the other teams?
3) "There's other positions were looking at, too." REALLY????
It has to be Monday
