Lakers not happy with Bynum suspension

08:09 AM ET 03.21 | Andrew Bynum will reportedly lose $249,090 for the two games he'll miss while suspended, but it could have been worse for the Lakers. The NBA considered suspending Andrew Bynum for three games before settling on a two-game punishment for his flagrant foul on Friday against Minnesota. Lakers coach Phil Jackson and general manager Mitch Kupchak called it "excessive," but without the existence of an appeals process, Bynum sat out the game Sunday against Portland (an 84-80 Lakers victory) and will also miss the game Tuesday against Phoenix. Nobody seems happy with it. Not the NBA, which sent warning letters to all teams in December about cracking down on flagrant fouls. Not the Lakers, who lost a player averaging 13 points, 13.7 rebounds and 2.7 blocked shots in his last 10 games.

Boy did Bynum foul hhim hard. He elbowed him hard. Thinking that 2 game suspension was justified.

One game was a fair, two too harsh.
Beasley was a punk in that game. Stu Jackson is an idiot as usual.

Play smarter, Bro.

Deion Sanders never hit a guy that good in his entire career. Loved it.

2 game suspension is justified, after seeing the video. Vicious hit, no play tried on the ball at all. Bynum is a loser for doing that, and Barnes is a bigger loser for trying to start a fight. All Bynum had to do was STAND with his hands raised, and Beas couldn't have done a thing!!!

Woow man with idiots like Barnes and Artest on the same team, I won't be surprised if LA will be involved in a big fight come some intense playoff games.

Personally I'm iffy on whether it should have been two or not. One for sure. Stupid play by Bynum to not even pretend to go for the ball.

In watching that video you see what a nut case Barnes can turn into sometimes. Why was he trying to start stuff there? He got beat on the play, Bynum committed a flagrant and Barnes comes running in to start ****. Barnes is an idiot.

Lol. Yeah I saw that too. Pretty ridiculous. Nothing like having two loose cannons.

Harsh? He didn't even make an attempt at the ball! He lowered his shoulder into his chest. He is lucky he only got 2 games for that considering he sent him behind the basket to where the photographers are.

That's the problem. He made no attempt to go for the ball, and from the looks of the video, he could have made a legal play.
