08:15 AM ET 03.21 | Not too far removed from his last NBA coaching gig, Larry Brown is, however, quite a bit removed from his last NCAA gig, but he's not ruling out a return. Now Brown, 70, is interested in a return to the college ranks. ... The idea of Brown in the NCAA may come out of the blue. It isn't without merit, though. Brown is correct that the NBA is the chief motivation for many recruits. If he was able to put together a young staff that's connected within grassroots basketball, then why wouldn't a top player consider playing for him? And it's not like he's been out of basketball the past few decades -- who else has coached Allen Iverson, maximized Chauncey Billups and Ben Wallace and still counts Michael Jordan as a close friend? He knows almost everyone. Besides, what candidate out there is a better actual coach than this guy?

QUOTE(#5):

Or maybe he will land at Duke if Coach K decides it is time to retire and then he will be able to come back in 4 or 5 years elsewhere.

What's up, Colonel?

QUOTE(#21):

Just can't get over the hump for some reason or another.

Same reason as Mack Brown...

... they are better recruiters than coaches.

Yes, I know Brown does have 1 title courtesy of Vince Young getting one thousand yards of offense on his own lol.

But, you can usually count on Brown and Barnes to lose when paired with an evenly matched or superior team.

QUOTE(#22):

I agree with 1, the other don't jive, Pitino left UK for the NBA, came back to Loserville, the same could go with L Brown, it could very well happen.

Especially in the case of Brown, who hasn't seemed to met the job he will not consider.

But, Brown is in the next phase of life now.

Retirement, vacationing, enjoying family and friends.
