Elway: Tebow 'not there yet,' looking at QBs

08:00 AM ET 03.22 | John Elway, Brian Xanders and John Fox are raising some eyebrows by taking such long looks at Auburn's Cam Newton and Missouri's Blaine Gabbert. "We're always looking for that guy," Elway said from the Roosevelt Hotel coffee shop when specifically asked about the so-called quarterback of the future. "We may already have the guy who can pull the trigger and win us a championship someday. We may have him. We don't know. We believe in Tim [Tebow], but he's not there yet." ... Elway, Xanders and Fox personally attended the pro day workouts of Newton and Gabbert in recent weeks. Offensive coordinator Mike McCoy went to Ryan Mallett's pro day workout at Arkansas. Quarterbacks coach Adam Gase has, or will, work out Washington's Jake Locker, Florida State's Christian Ponder and Nevada's Colin Kaepernick.
