08:04 AM ET 03.22 | Jim Irsay, who last week said labor issues wouldn't affect his relationship with his MVP quarterback, pointed a finger in the direction of Peyton Manning's agent over a contract issue. Irsay signaled on Monday some impatience with getting Manning's new contract done. Manning, who is slated to make $23 million in 2011 under the franchise tag, is seeking a new contract. The Colts have basically promised to make Manning the highest paid quarterback in the history of earth. Yet the new deal didn't get done to the seeming consternation of Irsay. "It should get done," said Irsay. "If you ask me it should have gotten done. You'll have to ask [Manning's agent] Tom Condon why it's not done."

This may have been a leverage tactic to labor negotiations with Manning's contract expiring....

Absolutely agree. Manning's name is on the class-action suit against the league. If he signs a new contract to make him fatter and happier while it's in litigation that sends the wrong message. The deal will get done when the time is right.

Irsay don't diss Peyton like the Jankees did Jete during their contract negotiations. The world knows Peyton is the face of the Colts for years to come.

Sounds like Irsay is worried about a new CBA even allowing a team to franchise tag a player with as many years in as Peyton.
No reason for him to sign anything. If ya don't like it Mr. Irsay, cut him, just like you did Sanders. Shoe is on the other foot now. Deal with it. You cut players all the time.

Tom Condon is Bob Sanders agent:
Irsay terminated Sanders contract before it was up.
The Colts played their trump card when it was good for them.
Condon and Peyton are using theirs.
So Irsay has NO complaint. None.
