Marbury to apologize to Knicks

A day after abandoning the Knicks in Phoenix amid a dispute with Coach Isiah Thomas, Stephon Marbury flew to Los Angeles and was in uniform for Wednesday night's game against the Clippers. Whether all is forgiven is another matter entirely. Marbury was not in the starting lineup, a sign that there is still mending to be done in his relationship with Thomas, both on and off the court. Marbury said he planned to apologize to his teammates.

Those two and Mr. D. are the bane of the owners. Knicks fans should speak up - loudly!

November 15, 2007  07:34 AM ET

JUST LEAVE and TAKE ISIAH WITH YOU!!

November 15, 2007  07:58 AM ET

STOP taking all this Steph nonsense out of context!!!!!!!! He is a superstar who just wants to play the game!!!!!!!!!

November 15, 2007  09:22 AM ET

Isiah vs. Starbury in a 10 round bout at Madison Square Garden. That might actually be something worth watching at MSG. The Knicks sure aren't.

November 15, 2007  09:36 AM ET

Never apologize, never explain.

Be a MAN, Starburry!

November 15, 2007  09:58 AM ET

Basically Steph got punked but Isiah behind the scenes. Isiah's from Chicago's inner city he can can get ghetto too! Believe he never forgot where he came from. And he wasn't going to let a little twerp like Stephon punk him. You just know he they had a "Step into my office moment". I saw the game and Steph came off the bench like a good little boy. I am riding with Isiah on this one. Not a fan of either but when Marbury had the gonads to try and PUBLICLY bribe Isiah he was through. One thing that people don't like in locker rooms are snitches.

Man, there were a lot of grammatical errors in my last post, but I think you get my point.

November 15, 2007  10:48 AM ET

Hey guys, sorry to have abandoned you because of pure selfishness. Sorry to have publicly embarassed the franchise by leaving and publicly blackmailing the coach. Sorry I have not lived up to my 21 million dollar salary. We good?

November 15, 2007  11:11 AM ET

The Knicks aren't even funny anymore. They're just sad.

November 15, 2007  11:20 AM ET

Isiah should not have played him last night. You threaten your coach with blackmail, you fly back to NY like a little ****, you come back when you are fined, and you still play...that's a damn waste.

Time to go Steph. Time to go.

November 15, 2007  11:38 AM ET

Those two need to call dr. Phil. Jerry Springer doesn't do it for this couple.

November 15, 2007  11:39 AM ET

Agree with J HOVA.
This team is out of control. They wanted to bench Curry the night before, but Thomas had no other C to play.
Thomas gets called out by Marbury and plays him.

Its insane.

First of all his supposed comments are speculation first a reporter says he heard it next he says a team source tells him. Get the facts before just believing media sources, but I guess people are still naive enough to think the media outlets report the truth all the time. Really they are looking for a story to sell b/c an old saying if it bleeds it leads. And with respect to him leaving even Isiah hasn't said he didn't allow him to some media relations people said that he wasn't given permission. Until I hear it from Isiah the coach/GM/President he said he didn't give permission I will believe Steph, who has a better track record of telling the truth

November 15, 2007  11:59 AM ET

Where's Liontut? Somebody tell him the wheels are coming off.

November 15, 2007  12:12 PM ET

The sooner Marbury and Isiah are out of NY, the sooner the Knicks will be relevent again.

November 15, 2007  12:12 PM ET

Yeah where is liontut. I want to really see him try to defend this garbage he calls the Knicks. Isiah sure is a genious. How are they so over the cap and still ain't a playoff team. He is an awful GM. He decides he wants Starbary knowing full well he doesn't play defense and now will likely buy out his contract because he now notices that it wasn't a smart idea. PURE GENIOUS.

November 15, 2007  12:21 PM ET

OOOO yeah and liontut so much for your 3-2 prediction. How do you have so much talent and yet still suck. He can only be the coach.

November 15, 2007  12:44 PM ET

Pimpy --WRONG!!!! Steph has millions of die-hard fans of all ages in NY who KNOW that the man is a SUPERSTAR>>>both on and off the court!!!! After that indiscretion in his truck , Steph changed his ways and matured GREATLY!!!!!! I saw him and Isiah talkin a bunch last night and everything seemed cool.....SO THEN WHY ALL THE MEDIA STATIC????? PEOPLE JUST TRYING TO CAUSE A RIFT BETWEEN ISIAH AND STEPH!!!!!! And that is sick!!!!!!!

November 15, 2007  01:05 PM ET

Yeah. He's really someone to support. He left the Timberwolves because he wasn't legally able to drink. Real intelligent man we have there. As much as I hate to say it but LeBron is right. Marbury's shoes suck.

November 15, 2007  01:07 PM ET

Hey Marbury, just tell them all you were high.
