08:11 AM ET 03.23 | Since trading Carmelo Anthony, the Nuggets have become one of the hottest teams in the NBA. The Nuggets have climbed to the fifth seed in the Western Conference and nobody wants to see them in the first round of the playoffs. Denver's attack is scarier than it ever was with Anthony because they don't have to get a superstar a certain amount of touches and they feature a revolving door of scorers that can lead the way on any given night. Their offense has become less predictable and reliant on one person, and their team defense has been phenomenal as well. "We all know Melo is a great player, but I don't think one player has ever won a championship in this league," Kenyon Martin told HOOPSWORLD. "He's a great player, but it's all about us playing together right now. That's what we're trying to do."

Can we do a daily segment of "things KMart says that are truly obvious"

By the way there is a pretty good article about the Nuggets on SI by Lee Jenkins called "Losing a Star"....I think it is work reading...

M3AT, I think you are a pretty realistic Knicks fan that can be debated with...I was extremely against the trade and always will be...I just think the Knicks had a BETTER TEAM before the trade and most importantly chemistry....I mean Amare was alpha dog and everyone knew it and now that Melo has come in it has changed Amares focus and attitude..IMO....

I thought I heard Amare pretty much call Melo out for not speaking after a loss and complaining about not getting the ball a week or so ago....

I still expect Denver to get knocked out in the first round.

I wa against the move as well from the startand after 15 games, it appears you /we were rightBUTcan we give them even a little more time to figure things out?I mean give them til the end of the monthThey've had no pre season, minimal practices and 15 gamesNo matter what you thought or I thought,The ny team pre melo was going nowhere, lets not forget that.We all agreed they weren't getting out of the first round, and this team wont either, but they have more upside now going forward. Its ALL about them wanting to try and play dWhich the team befire didn't do either....Lets not make it out to be like we traded the bad boys.I mean were talking galo

Oh I think they will def become a better team that what they have shown...BUT I think as much as they had to give up and even getting Melo doesnt put them any closer to the finals....I wish they would have kept building with what they had and eventually made a move for Deron Williams or Paul when they become a free agent....I think they went from having 3 holes to now having 6 holes...Im not spewing hate or anything like that...I dont mind if the Knicks do good....BUT after seeing them rebuild for the last 3 years and then throw all that away in my eyes is unacceptable...

I mean everyone keeps saying how bright the future is BUT if they opt to keep Billups (which by all accounts they will) they will be at like 55-58 million in salary cap next season...So yeah they could get a mid level guy but they gave away a lot of their picks already and by looking at miami we see what happens when you get players off the scrap heap...So I guess I dont see as sunny skies as I did before the trade...

Yupp... The great players can do it all. Just give Melo one training camp with Knicks and all these non team player crap will be a moot point. He and STAT can get it done. They sure have the ability. It's just a matter of mastering the coaching technic and that will sure come. I'm not worried at all... patience is a virtue.

Oh yeah he was sure talking big shizzlenit when he was there in a nuggets uniform for sure....

I respectfully disagree that your team is better going forward. It doesn???t appear that way at the moment. If Denver is better WITHOUT Melo, what does that tell you? Your team might look better on PAPER, but Melo brings more than the 25 points he scores every night he also brings the drama and divisiveness that has that Denver team breathing a sigh of relief now that he is gone. It seems like a weight has been lifted from them. They are not on their way to a title, BUT they are free to play as a team now. That weight is squarely on the Knicks now and God forbid they dont figure everything out. If they continue to lose even into next year I think it could get REALLY ugly. Don't you think that is a possibility?

The diff in the Nugs is the addition of another Tar HEEL. RayRay and TyLaw are doing work in the Mile High for Coach Karl. I'm hoping the Nugs can make a deep run in the playoffs. It sure would be nice if they could shock the world by beating the Fakers.
