08:21 AM ET 03.24 | Max Pacioretty is still sidelined by a serious injury after he was hit by Zdeno Chara, and the drama has been ratcheted up for the teams' first meeing since. The Canadiens' winger was diagnosed with a "severe concussion" and a fractured vertebra. He's since said that he is not feeling any aftereffects of the concussion, and Habs coach Jacques Martin said Pacioretty could return for the playoffs. ... Bruins winger Mark Recchi, who's been playing in the NHL since 1988, was asked on 98.5 The Sports Hub's Felger and Massarotti Show if he was bothered by the Canadiens' "embellishment" of the injury. "Well, obviously, yeah," Recchi answered. "There's an injury -- he does have, obviously, a fractured vertebra, but the concussion was really a non-factor. Maybe [for] a day or two, he felt it, and then he was fine a couple days later."

this is just the media stirring the pot to fire up this rivalry - as if it needed it.
Recchi didn't even use the word embellishment - the interviewer did.

Can't begin to describe the level of stupidity of this story. Surprising they didn't find one about a Capitals player commenting on how Crosby embellished his own concussion.

Either way, Recchi is no rookie - he should've known better than to say something like this before a game that has EVERYONE'S eyes on it already - even non-hockey fans. The man has even played in Montreal, for crying out loud, so its not like he doesn't know how much this will rile up the place.
Can't say I don't like it personally though - felt the same way since news came out that Patch could be back for the playoffs.

Mike Felger used the word. But Recchi agreed with him. It is ingrained in the Canadiens psyche to flop and fake their way to what they desire. I mean really, who calls 911 after a hit in a hockey game? The entire population up there is just nuts.

Recchi also mentioned that Max was twittering, or tweeting or whatever that dumbass thing is from a movie theatre, and that is when Recchi said it couldn't have been too bad.

The game is in Boston so it doesn't matter how riled up the Canadiens fans are.
Recchi also knows that the chances are excellent that the Bruins will get hosed in epic fashion this evening by the refs. He is just preemptively taking out a little frustration.

I have a bet with a friend that Montreal will dive and flop their way to at least 8 power plays tonight. Double digits are not out of the question.

Should be an interesting game tonight. I agree that the refs may have a hand in tonights contest. The league talked to both GM's last week to make sure this didn't get out of hand.

Anytime there is a lot of hype for a game, the game usually doesn't live up to it. There might be one scrum and that's about it.

Montreal has the distinct advantage in that their whole team is comprised of flopping Nancy-boys and the Bruins only really have one on their roster and he (Savard) has been out with an injury for most of the year.
It's almost sad to see how the once proudest franchise in hockey has sunk to the level of a bunch of whining ****.

Agreed. Boston will probably play tentatively as far as the physical stuff goes and Montreal doesn't have anyone who is tough so..............................................

One guy does something stupid and you call the entire population nuts? Nice.
Nard Dog probably said it best. A lot of hype usually doesn't translate to a better game on the ice.

They don't have to "find" anything. Just make 'em up. Works just as well.

It wasn't one guy. The police had to shut down the 911 system because of the overwhelming number of calls from outraged fans calling for Chara's arrest. This was done at the urging of a radio talk show host. I stand by my statement.
