08:07 AM ET 03.25 | Rehabbing at the Andrews Institute in Pensacola, Fla., Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford is on the mend, able to throw a football and tend to his Twitter account. "Just got done throwing shoulder is feeling good...staying in Athens with the boys for a few more unexpected days," he wrote late Wednesday from the home of his alma mater (University of Georgia). Stafford underwent offseason surgery in January to repair his injured throwing shoulder. The former No. 1 overall pick played in three games last season. In his first two seasons, Stafford has missed more games (19) than he's played in (13). ... Stafford was at Georgia's pro day earlier this week and told the NFL Network that when he's completely healthy, he will begin throwing to Calvin Johnson and other Lions receivers in preparation for the upcoming season.

Stafford's a good QB, there's nowhere to go but up.

It's good that these guys have twitter to keep themselves occupied during the lockout.

At the same time, it's kind of bad that they need Twitter to stay out of trouble in the first place.

Assuming he does not have to go under Andrew's knife again.

Didn't know Andrews had a place in Florida - thought he was just in Birmingham.

Yeah, he's good, but you have to wonder about how fragile he is. When he's able to play Detroit wins.

Was at a pro day - wonder if he had any illegal contact with teams, coaches, etc.

Pictures of Rex and JJ are ugly, but you can sustain a career-ending injury just looking at a picture of Matthew Stafford.

Seriously, this guy needs to look at his conditioning program. He may just be the Amazing Glass Quarterback, but he's got to toughen up in the pre-season and learn that sometimes doing the slide thing or throwing to the blonde in the fourteenth row is the right thing to do.

The problem is that he keeps going down. Usually beneath someone larger and heavier than he is.
