Rookie gives Raptors reason to wheel Bargnani

08:07 AM ET 03.28 | While Andrea Bargnani nursed a sore ankle, Ed Davis, a 21-year-old rookie, took the court as a Raptors starter on Saturday. It turned out to be one of his best performances of the year. He set another career high with 21 points, this on efficient 8-for-11 shooting from the field. He hauled down a team-high 11 rebounds. ... If Davis' road-trip-capping performance helped add a touch of credibility to GM Bryan Colangelo's rebuilding plan, it also made a case, albeit an anecdotal one, that the presence of Bargnani -- currently day-to-day with bone spurs in his right ankle -- is only holding Davis back. There are voices within the team who'll tell you that, with Davis establishing himself as an ascendant talent, the prudent way forward for the Raptors is to trade the Italian.

I heard that Julian Wright a back up for the Raptors refused to come into the game when they were getting smacked by the Warriors.

A backup that refuses to check in?

You have big issues in this franchise...

Hmmm...Well how about starting the two together....I mean that would make sense....

Ab is a decent talent, he could help alot of teams if they move him

I agree...I was reading aan article over him i think on hoopshype earlier in the year and they were talking to Reggie Evans about AB's rebounding....Evans said point blank that isnt his job...His job is to score mine is to rebound....I dont think he will ever be a strong rebounder but the guy can put the ball in the basket with anyone...

He is a center that hardly rebounds, and has no post moves. He makes Chris Bosh look like Dwight Howard.

On topic though, I don't know who'd want this guy. He's a poor man's Dirk. Emphasis on the poor. The only thing he can do is score, but he is far too inconsistent.

I once heard Bill Simmons use the phrase "homeless man's" to compare 2 players in the league. Bargnani definitely fits the bill as a homeless man's Dirk.....ZERO rebounds the other night against Golden State in 27 mins and this guy's 7 FT!

The best part about this comment is that you took the time to follow this link, then read the T&R and then comment that no one cares......kind of ironic isn't it?

Davis and demar derozan are both having solid seasons. Both of them are high draft picks in the last 3 years with enormous potential . Bargnai has potential too but I believe they should trade him; Davis has more upside.
