Georgia Tech picked up a backcourt player Thursday, when Iman Shumpert, a Chicago-area standout, signed a letter-of-intent to play for the Yellow Jackets. Shumpert, a 6-foot-4 guard whom Tech coach Paul Hewitt recruited chiefly to play point guard, is from Oak Park and River Forest High School, and was especially impressive last summer in various camps and AAU tournaments.

GT didn't look that great in yesterday's loss to Winthrop......they could definitely use Shumpert right now. :-)

Hewitt is a great recruiter and I think he is a good coach too. He just need to keep his kids for more than 2 years, instead of them turning pro. I saw him interact with some kids 16 and under in an AAU tournament and he was amazing. He talked to every kid that approached him to shake his hand. The coach from Muzz was impressive too.
