Sources believe Isiah wants to be fired

A couple Knick players and at least one staff member get the distinct impression Isiah Thomas wants to be fired and is going to extremes (I offer for evidence the bizarrely stained, even for Isiah, Stephon Marbury misadventure) to give James Dolan no other choice.

LMAOO!

November 16, 2007  07:26 AM ET

Thomas will get his wish. He lost the feel for the team, he's embarrassed of the sex scandal. Dolan is lining up his money for payoffs.

November 16, 2007  07:48 AM ET

The Knicks will make the play-offs to everyones surprise, and all will be forgiven. Mark my words...

November 16, 2007  08:59 AM ET

I will mark your words with a question mark.

November 16, 2007  09:07 AM ET

ROFL ... Isiah has turned himself into the joke of the NBA.

November 16, 2007  09:11 AM ET

hahahaha This tidbit is as "plausable" as a WWE storyline!!!

November 16, 2007  09:18 AM ET

Of course he does...getting fired has better financial outcome than quiting. If you're fired, you are entitled to a large portion of what is left on your contract. If you quit, you get nothing more than your last day's pay.

November 16, 2007  09:22 AM ET

Oh please. His job performance is enough to get fired. He doesn't need to try to get fired. Any other team would have fired him a long time ago.

November 16, 2007  09:55 AM ET

He should have been fired already, but Dolan has no nuts.

November 16, 2007  09:58 AM ET

I'm a knicks fan and I say fire this bum he's a joke now, him and marbury are both bums...and they said thing is marbury was my favorite player at one point and this year just showed what type of person him and thomas are...BUMS

THE SAD***

November 16, 2007  10:13 AM ET

You have to honestly ask yourself, exactly what has Isiah done right?

November 16, 2007  10:13 AM ET

I'll believe it when I see it. Dolan has had more than enough opportunities to fire him. If the court case, the salary cap, the team getting embarrassed, and some of Isiah's personel moves haven't gotten him fired, I don't think this latest incident with Starbury will make that much of a difference.

November 16, 2007  10:21 AM ET

even if we fire him, who are we gonna go out and get as the new coach and gm?
the Larry brown experiment was a complete flop

and if you ever notice, every time he smiles, he has this smirk on his face like the grinch as a way of saying i'm f*ckin this team up and getting away with it.

piece of ****

November 16, 2007  10:37 AM ET

HECK to the YEAH! Go for it!

November 16, 2007  10:39 AM ET

The Dolans and Isiah deserve each other. They are the biggest idiots in the league. They should be forced to stay with each other. Thomas should have been fired two seasons ago for his running of this franchise. The track record is laughable. Sex harassment, boorish behaviour, ego-maniacal, Thomas will never get another GM job the way he has conducted himself and brought nothing but losing and embarassment to a team that had bottomless wallets for him to spend and let him run everything from the top on down... Thomas made this mess, and his sneaky personality (which he has been famous for) wants out now? I hope he sits uncomfortably on that bench all year and hears the boos as his team gets their butts kicked night in and out!

November 16, 2007  10:41 AM ET

Nice. This is sort of like creating Frankenstein, setting him loose in town, then catching a plane to Florida.

Class act if this is true. What happened to that ability to assemble talent?
And we all thought Larry Brown was crazy.

November 16, 2007  10:46 AM ET

Heres one for you.. until you can come out and say "sources" say and actually name them, it might as well come from the reporters ****

November 16, 2007  10:49 AM ET

can we calm the heck down.. the knicks ar e 2-5 for Christ sake the season hasn't even got warm yet. i am at least giving them the month of Nov to jell and get it together. Zack has missed some games and he is key to the success of this team so we need him in the lineup to develop that cohessivness. Its not about Steph or Zeke. U people are calling for heads and um the Nets only won 2 more games the big mouth chest pounding Chicago fans on here are nowhere to be found as I said for months before Chi is over rated with no offense and they are 1-6. Miami, Washington was to be promising and they are the same. I expected Boston to come out on fire but fizzle in the end with 3 old all-stars no bench or supporting cast for 82 games. Give it a month. then we can pick this back up again if no change.

Isiah needs to be fired based off his record alone.
