08:31 AM ET 03.30 | Ryan Miller had owned Toronto, but the tide seems to have turned in a hurry. Thanks to a 4-3 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday, the Leafs have now beaten Miller three consecutive times in the past six weeks. Yes, this is the same Ryan Miller who, prior to his modest losing streak versus Toronto, had a career record of 24-8 against the Leafs. This one got away from Miller from the get-go, courtesy of Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf. ... It was his slap shot that whizzed past Miller's glove at 1:34 of the first period that had the Buffalo goalie shaking his head afterward. "It wasn't quite the effort we wanted. I had the chance to set the tone and I didn't do it," Miller said of Phaneuf's blast, which gave the Leafs a 1-0 lead.

Yep. Big four point game and the Sabres drop their **** the dirt. Very disappointing. Although it does keep the great unwashed To***to mob frothed up for a few more days.

In my mind I'm going with Carolina.

We tried to help last night. &*#@!

Damn, I thought it was a real article until I saw the dreaded words "Toronto Sun" at the end.

Too bad it doesn't matter given that Toronto is headed back to the lottery, just to hand the pick to Boston.

If i had to pick, i'd rather play Buffalo than Carolina in the 1st round.

I'm staying with the Sabres. Damn it!

I too think the Sabres will make the playoffs. Toronto, not so much.

I'm really, really hoping that the Leafs late season push will let Rotten Ronnie keep his job. Then we don't have to worry about them for another year.

I beat my buddy at rock, paper scissors 3 times the other day - I must have his number now. Apparently doesn't matter that he beat me 100 straight times before that. Gotta love the sample sizes the Toronto media will use to help make their points.

Tough loss for Buffalo last night. I'm pretty impressed with Miller taking it all on his shoulders though. That's a heck of a leader right there, even if he IS between the pipes. There was this goalie captain in the league not so long ago who tended to prefer blaming his teammates for losses. Not quite as endearing - to the fans and teammates alike.

March 30, 2011  11:23 AM ET

and yet they still wont make the playoffs. good for them.

March 30, 2011  11:36 AM ET

Bottom feeders, both.

Setting themselves up for a late-season disappointment. Again. They'll probably win out after getting eliminated so that might save Rotten Ronnie's job.

Nothing in Burkes lingo thus far makes me think Rotten Ronnie is in any danger at all-surprisingly ??? It looks like these two will eventually accomplish something as a tandem or just poop the bed together. Smells like at the very least they both come back ( like acid reflux) next year.

Viva Burke!!

Absolutely. They can take out the tin foil Cup again and have a parade down Younge St.
