08:03 AM ET 03.31 | It's a step in the right direction for former Alabama wideout Julio Jones. The protective boot on Jones' foot will come off Saturday, allowing the first-round prospect to ramp up his workout schedule before the NFL draft on April 28. Jones had surgery March 5 to repair a fracture in his foot. He competed with the injury at the NFL scouting combine a week prior and wowed NFL personnel men, coaches and scouts. ... One of the subplots of the draft concerns which wide receiver will be selected first -- Jones or Georgia's A.J. Green. Teams that could target a receiver in the first round include the Bengals (No. 4 pick), Browns (No. 6), Redskins (No. 10) and Rams (No. 14). Green is considered the top prospect by many scouts, but Jones gained momentum with a superb combine performance, including a 4.39-second 40-yard dash despite the stress fracture. Both Green and Jones could have immediate impact as rookies.

Heavy jewelry, heavy bankrolls and thick women can wear you down, I guess. Especially with all the "friends" these guys have to drag around everywhere they go. Those putzes are probably the heaviest of all.

I think Julio left a trail of inconsistiency at Alabama with too many drops...not saying he can't be an elite NFL WR, but he is behind AJ Green and won't pass him on anybody except maybe al Davis and Daniel Synder's board

Jones had surgery March 5, He needs to take it easy and let his foot heal or this may become a recurring theme in his career. He impressed people at the Combine while injured;that should count for a lot, especially since this season is in doubt.
