08:11 AM ET 04.01 | Frequent sparring partners Phil Jackson and Mark Cuban are at it again. The Dallas Mavericks' owner said he wanted Lakers forward Ron Artest to have the ball in his hands more often and be forced to make more decisions in the complex triangle offense. The Lakers' coach responded with a zinger or two for Cuban. "I know that Mark likes to prick the skin of people, but he's not a player. He just sits behind the bench with his sun-tanned face and tries to make comments like that," Jackson said Thursday. "He's got nothing to do with it. I know that he's provided a great roster that's almost as good as money can buy -- but not quite." Should be plenty of fun if the teams meet in the Western Conference semifinals.

I never want to see the Mavs win and the best part is, I don't have to worry about it.

Maybe so...But then again I think we dont have to worry about the Knicks winning anything soon seeing how they let Isiah keep running that franchise....lol

Phil lashed out pretty quickly there. I suspect that Cuban may have gotten under his skin a little with the Artest comments. A composed Phil would have just laughed about what Cuban said.Cuban 1, Phil 0 ?

What's up, MMA?

Phil and Mark are very much alike.... egomaniacs that think more of themselves than others think of them.

I envision both of them giving the workers hell at the nursing home when they reach age 90+.

Phil loves to say his little lines on everyone and it is his last year so I doubt he'll pull any punches.

Why do I need to call you? I can talk trash about what a garbage of an organization the Knicks have been for 10+ years...So call me when something changes.....

You don't beat the Lakers by imitating their design, meaning you don't copy the path to their success. If your going to beat the Lakers you have to provide a challenge that they are not familiar with. By Dallas assembling a roster that closely resemble the Lakers they are not gaining an advantage but allowing the Lakers to have the advantage. Assembling a roster that would cause the Lakers to make adjustments would be more to Dallas advantage. Dallas won't beat the Lakers any time soon, maybe when Phil has retired or Kobe talents become obsolete. The Lakers are primed to win another championship this season and probably one more before management takes the team apart due to coaching changes and personnel adapting to a new system. Besides, you don't want to keep the current roster together too long and create a losing roster for the future.
