Wild GM in dark about Walz
Wild general manager Doug Risebrough, back from a scouting trip to Europe, said Wednesday that center Wes Walz will remain on an indefinite leave of absence -- indefinitely. "This is in Wes' hands. We are not spending any time contacting Wes," Risebrough said. "I am not pursuing any information. I understand your need to know, but you're asking the wrong person because I'm not trying to find out."

Good. Leave him alone for now.

Who cares? All of a sudden, Wes Walz is a story? Life in Minnesota must be very quiet. This guy is a third line centre. He obviously has lost the heart to play. He may be going through personal problems... leave it at that. Worry about players that actually matter.

Since when do the media "need to know", especially about personal issues. These vultures can be just like tabloid writers. I'm sure they'll get some sort of an answer when Wes returns. For now, they should look for something newsworthy. I hear Elvis was spotted at a St. Paul deli eatin' a pastrami on rye. I, for one, hope all is well with Wes and his loved ones, period.
