11:35 AM ET 04.03 | Madden NFL 12, the coming version of the eerily true-to-life N.F.L. video game played by millions of gamers, will be realistic enough not only to show players receiving concussions, but also to show any player who sustains one being sidelined for the rest of the game -- no exceptions. John Madden, the Hall of Fame coach for whom the game is named and who is involved in its development, said that the impetus for the changes was twofold: to further hone the game's realism, and to teach youngsters to play football more safely.

As a bonus feature the game adds realism by having 40 hours of court room testimony...

What will they think of next? Players can sext pictures of their junk to the staff from the sidelines?

Is "Fassel UFL 2012" in the works yet?

Sounds like another cool addition to an already awesome video game franchise.

However, I prefer the NCAA College Football on XBox 360.

So this change was added, in part, to "teach youngsters to play football more safely". How much safer can they be than sitting on their backsides on the sofa with a controller in their hands? Pretty much no risk of a concussion there so I guess this is 'mission accomplished' for EA.

Until the Madden Ambulance makes its way back into the game, its not a football game. It was the mythical god that claimed so many lives like GB QB #4, and DET RB #20.

When did FN turn into Game informer?

Hey EA, it's a freaking game!!

Good thing EA doesn't put out Call of Duty or something similar. Get shot, and the game self destructs.

yeah the ambulance was awesome, it used run over all the players to get to the injured player, there's no NFL news so let's talk Madden 12, and as long as the game has an option to remove concussions, even if madden weren't in the hall of fame for being coach he should for making the Madden franchise and promoting the NFL, more guys know more about football because of that game even tough sega football was big too though

but also to show any player who sustains one being sidelined for the rest of the game -- no exceptions.

Only that's not realistic.

I'll give you an example. Week 1 last season:

You don't need to be a doctor to realize Stewart Bradley sustained a severe concussion. But guess what? He was back on the field several plays later.

"No exceptions", right?

I have owned every madden, and I say that this is stupid,The madden game last year was better then the real games I watched, almost every fan can say way to many flags it seems like every drive there were the most stupid calls, for whatever reason now madden has to make the game safer? We do not pay to watch or play safe games I want to watch these guys rip each others heads off,I want to see teams hate each other, thats what has made the NFL the most watched game in America,I think the way were heading is going to be the downfall of a once great sport!Madden has been awesome for years and now it to is getting :SOFT:

I have been a fan of EA since Madden '99 and injuries have always been a part of the game. As long as there is feature where I can turn injuries off, so what?

As long as Josh Freeman is not on the cover I could careless... I am more concerned about that Madden cover athlete curse thing than anything else.

Tell me this, is EA planning to also include a new CBA as well?

So is Madden going with 16 or 18 games?
