08:02 AM ET 04.04 | Will litigation place Tom Brady's off-the-field celebrity in a precarious spot? Brady has performed in the brightest of stadiums and sauntered on countless paparazzi-infused red carpets. But the Patriots quarterback has never been under a spotlight quite like this. On Wednesday, a federal court in Minnesota will hear the former players union's antitrust lawsuit, a class-action complaint intended to stop the lockout. The suit is called Brady vs. the NFL -- because, alphabetically, Brady's name happens to be first of the 10 plaintiffs, thrusting him front and center. By agreeing to allow the use of his name, Brady will forever be remembered for not just touchdowns and rings, but also a controversial court case that may shake the NFL's foundation.

He's not the only one.

April 4, 2011  08:07 AM ET

Brady is no stranger to the role of leader. He'll be ok.

April 4, 2011  08:09 AM ET

Well let's hope that it doesn't get so bad that we do remember it!

April 4, 2011  08:11 AM ET

This lawsuit is intended to end the lockout. I can't imagine anything that would improve his image more than trying to disrupt that.

April 4, 2011  08:18 AM ET

The Boston Herald. That's all I needed to know.

April 4, 2011  08:24 AM ET

And if the lawsuit ends the lockout and the season starts on time next year, will we remember Brady as the "hero" who is responsible for saving 2011?

Brady is going to the HOF. Roger Goodell is not.

Brady has Super Bowl rings, A Supermodel wife, and a Supersized bank account. I don't think he cares. He can only benefit from this- Whats the downside from trying to get the season going?

I think what this article fails to mention that as one of the top players in the NFL, he has to to what is best for the players in the league.

Consider the source. They are not known for winning journalistic awards. The article is just a P.O.S.!

OK, we know you've only got one picture of Tebow. But we also know you have another picture of Brady. Let's see it.

The Patriots won't be going to any superbowls any time soon regardless....

They've gotten away from the winning formula, and have gotten too "cutesy" at putting white guy journeymen in Skill positions - knowing they can't hold up physically in today's NFL.

Brady and Manning and Brees and the rest went up in my eyes. They put their names on the lawsuit. They have their money and a new CBA does nothing for them.
I want to see one owner put his name out there individually and not hide behind the league.

April 4, 2011  08:57 AM ET

Maybe he should send in Gisele, that might sway the final result.

The Boston Herald and Globe are basura...

April 4, 2011  09:02 AM ET

No, him endorsing male uggs hurts his image. He does have the Gisele card though to trump any attempt at smuring him. How dare this article say Jesus could lose his image

April 4, 2011  09:03 AM ET

Risking what image?? That he's a leader? If anything it will work in his favor.

I guess going 14-2 is going away from the winning formula???

April 4, 2011  09:15 AM ET

He's putting his name etc on the line for the benefit of all of the NFL players...this wont hurt him in any way.

April 4, 2011  09:19 AM ET

So this greedy football player is risking his image by suing even greedier NFL owners, but he didn't risk his image by fathering a child out of wedlock?
