Sox already considering major move?

08:14 AM ET 04.07 | Only 9,523 were on hand to watch the Red Sox fall to 0-5 in Cleveland -- probably best at this point to keep eyes shielded from the futility. If the Sox make a roster move before tomorrow's game, would it be a surprise? Dennys Reyes has faced 10 batters in the first five games of the season and six have gotten on base. Of the six left-handed hitters he has faced, four have reached. The first batter against him has gotten on three out of four times. That the Red Sox are an embarrassing 0-5 is not the fault of Reyes. But clearly something has to happen. ... Things are so bad that Youkilis thought about dropping a line drive with the bases loaded in the sixth inning to get a double play. Then he decided to catch it. Then he dropped it anyway and they still couldn't get a double play.

How many people jumped into the Charles this morning?

Winning their first game right now would look like a major move.

I have a meeting as well. Shall return in a little while.

This is what happens when you hype a team just because of how they look on paper. Shouldn't we all have learned by now that what you have on paper means jack when it comes to actual games?

How many options do the Red Sox have at this point? After trading for Adrian Gonzales, are there Major League ready prospects in the system who could replace some of the dead wood currently on the big league club? Do they have any good players signed to tradeable contracts?

It seems like the Red Sox just have to play the hand they've dealt themselves at this point.

It will be interesting to see how they dig themselves out of this hole.

Dennys Reyes???

I thought he was still getting lit up in the Mexican League :-)

It's been a weird start to the season for several teams...

You can't put the blame on "THE BIG SWEAT"

Is moving Dennys Reyes really a major move? It should be done, but I wouldn't say that's a major move. They kept him over Okajima because Okie had an option, and Reyes didn't. I really hope Reyes is gone soon, though. An 11-1 ball-to-strike ration last night, that is just abismal.

SI should also consider a major move and can some of their "experts". Missed badly on orioles, and way overrated the sox . as per the experts, very good players on other teams, become greatest in the game when they put on the sox or yanks uni. just a little too much mailing it in, living in the past. but sox (and yanks) should hang around .500 this year.....both need to reload pitching staff with young studs....like baltimore

The Indians are awesome.

<flicks off Red Sox fans>

You're absolutely right. Let's fire the experts because some of their picks don't look too god 5 games into the season. Sound logic, there.

It's disheartening for sure ... especially after all the positive hype coming out of spring training. I mean, wtf happened????

They'll get back on track as soon as they start playing some lesser competition.
