08:07 AM ET 04.08 | Considered by some to be the top tight end in the draft, Kyle Rudolph didn't set any speed records Thursday, but he may have made himself a lot of money. Almost six months to the day that he had surgery to repair a torn hamstring, [Rudolph] got his chance to prove to teams that he still was the top-rated tight end prospect in this year's draft. After Thursday's Pro Day at Notre Dame, most concerns were alleviated. The former Elder High standout did all the drills in a 3 1/2-hour session. He was unable to participate in any drills at the Scouting Combine due to the injury and has been able to do full workouts for the past three weeks. ... About the only thing Rudolph wasn't happy with were his 40 times of 4.78 and 4.81 seconds. He was hoping to run in the 4.65-4.75 range. Had he run at the combine, the 4.78 would have been ninth quickest.

Blinding everybody with his red nose too.

There are just some teams that no matter how bright his honker is he won't lead them to the promised land.

It doesn't look like he'll have any other responsibilities for next Christmas, the way the CBA negotiations are going.

I wish he would have stayed another year and Michael Floyd could have avoided the drinky-drinky. I still think the Irish will have a good season, however.

that's the truth...

It can't hurt recruiting to have players show well in the nfl draft, but at the same time it'd have been great to see him stick around for another year.

how often does a tight end run 40 yards untouched at full speed until they get the ball? I wouldn't put much stock in the 40.

I thought those were members of the cheerleading squad.

Rudolph's stats look a little above average. He's worth a look.

I understand why he left early (Money) but I seriously didn't understand from a developmental stand point as to why? He wasn't all that great IMHO and could have used another (uninjured) year.

No, that's Ocho (Dancer) and T.O. (Prancer).

April 8, 2011  07:45 PM ET

Oh no, it might mess up a lot of those bs mock drafts!

Rudolph is a gamer; saw him in the Pittsburg game when he couldn't run; after the play he hobbled back to the huddle. He stil caught key passes, and changed the defensive alignment.
He'll be another ND Tight End presence in the NFL, continuing a great tradition.
