Rams president wants changes
They fired head coach Mike Martz after the 2005 season, but his replacement, Scott Linehan, is no lock to make it to 2008. Fans are restless and frustrated. Attendance is down for home games at the increasingly drab Edward Jones Dome. Apathy has set in. President John Shaw is appalled by the team's downturn of fortunes. Here is what Shaw is determined to change: the way the Rams draft players. He believes it's the organization's most glaring flaw, and he's right. He's just undecided as to how to correct it. There is no doubt in my mind that Shaw wants to keep Linehan ??? but just wants to make sure over the final seven games. It's possible that Shaw will nudge Linehan into making some changes on the coaching staff. All

Isn't John Shaw the president? Doesn't he deserve his share of the blame for the Rams implossion? If he really wants change he should consider stepping aside. Change at the top couln't hurt, could it? (DC)

Shaw has been Georgia's BOY since her husband died. D Cruiser is absolutely right in his assessment of Shaw. But I have to admit change would be nice for the Rams and perhaps Georgia and John can waltz off nto the sunset together. They deserve each other!

Shaw has never wanted to accept responsibility for the Ram's problems......but he is the common denominator. Blame this year's disaster on Martz, John.....go ahead......

It's about ownership, and the Rams are owned by an ex-waitress.

I am die hard Ram fan, I have the jersey #18 proudly displayed at home. It is a truely disappointing time. Is it ownership? Is it the coaches, or is it just the players? Whatever it is, it is good to see John Shaw express concern, however the draft, is only part of the problem. The team appears to lack a sense of urgancy and mission. For years now, it has been patch work repairs with no real plan for player development or plan for building systematically. The loss of quality young players go on and on with the end result being acquisition of many veterans at the end of their career. It is the same as college football loading up on junior college players hoping the team comes together. it is just not going to happen.

I too am a die hard Rams fan, I agree with Shepiam. My son and I love the Rams with a passion that my son chose to decorate his bedroom with any and all Rams momentos. It does start with the top, but the players are also to blame. Example: Most wide receivers I see make a catch and fight for extra yards and try to score. Although I love Torry and Isac they really need to stop being soft. they catch the ball and instantly fall to the ground or get out of bounds. In my opinion we should have kept Kurt Warner, look how well he's doing with the Arizona Cardinals of all teams. Bulger yes he is a good Quarterback , but that's it. The Rams need to invest in a QB that is more like Vince young and believe it or not like Mike Vick. In short moble and can throw on the run. Finally bring some caliber youth to the team. It takes money to make money. Pay for the players and the fans will come back and pay for the tickets.
