Was Notre Dame lenient on Floyd for football's sake?

07:59 AM ET 04.10 | It's officially a new dynamic under the dome. Part compassion, part cooperation and common sense and ??? though Notre Dame officials sooner would turn the Grotto into a topless beach than admit it -- part concession that winning football games is a fairly important deal. "I don't know if it's simply about a football relationship," Brian Kelly said Saturday when asked what the Michael Floyd decision said about Res Life and his program. "We're all educators here at Notre Dame. I can't look into decisions that were made in the past. I can only live in the present. And I'm pleased he's going to get a chance to finish his degree. The football stuff? If it works out, fine."

I don't know. Let me think this one over. Hmmm, do schools give star athletes special treatment?

I hope he gets some sort of treatment. But, I'm also looking forward to seeing him dominate on the field.

Nah. The conservatives would have kicked him off the team, out of school and given him a vasectomy so he didn't have kids.

So, is he saying the other kids there could keep going to class and play football too?
