08:47 AM ET 04.10 | The reports out of Indianapolis were that Blaine Gabbert was very impressive in interviews. Now the reports out of Gabbert's team visits also are very positive. One team said Gabbert "blew us away" on the board. His knowledge of schemes, coverages and pressures is exactly what NFL teams are looking for. Some teams are starting to believe that even though Gabbert might not have the ability of Cam Newton or other quarterbacks who usually are chosen at the top of the draft, his feel for the game might make him a better pro.

So, the new trend for FN threads is this: college quarterbacks who will have a more significant impact in the NFL than Cam Newton. Should be good for at least ten more stories.

Gaining ground? When did Gabbert fall behind?
Last I checked Blaine Gabbert has been the #1 QB available since Andrew Luck decided to stay in school.

Or maybe Newtons agent. It would make him the second QB taken in the draft if you believe it.

so are we to believe that newton is just a dumb black qb who doesn't know how to run plays , didn't practice or study much and just freelanced his way and a team to the ncaa championship.i'll take that qb all day long.

Really? You're in luck! Instead of having to pay Newton high 1st round money, you can get Vince Young for a lot less and have the same skills.

All of this just begs the question: Why the hell then, were his numbers just so ordinary in college?

Except for the reports that indicated trading for Kevin Kolb is the way to go since he has "more upside" than anyone in the draft...
