Who will Oilers draft with top pick?

What? No picture of Peter Forsberg wearing the Tre Kronar...

I like to get all my information on the Oilers from the Boston Globe.

I wonder if they think the Royal Alberta Museum is worth the tax dollars?

There was some confusion as to what photo was actually him...a Forsberg or Foote photo...So they opted for this one. Sharp as a tack those Boston boys.

there's this big trend to go for swedish d early in the draft. we'll know in a few years how wise it is.

I got an interesting question....

You're the Wings coach, playing the Hawks today. Game is tied late in the 3rd, Hawks only need one point to make the playoffs. Do you pull the goalie and go for the win in regulation to knock out your rival?

The Leafs were in this situation last year with the Habs, and I was pissed that Wilson didn't pull the goalie and try to knock out the Habs. So I say go for it! Pull the goalie if that situation occurs.

And did anyone see Selanne's first career fight last night! He is like 50!

I would sit everybody and let those kids play, Helm, Abdelkader. They aren't gonna see either the Hawks or Dallas first round anyway.

would play too much as a distraction in the media. Coaches are for the most part old-school and by the book, acting out this way will draw alot of unwanted attention.

Being an Oil fan I know we need D but I would love to see Hopkins feeding Hall and Eberle. I take Hopkins.

I agree. As much as the Oilers need help on defence, they need a legitimate #1 Center and ... that Hopkins kid from down the road in Red Deer is just what the doctor ordered. He is way too good to pass up.

I think the only way they let this kid get away is if the Oilers lose the draft lotto.

The Globe has been following this all year. They thought the Bruins would be picking second again and take the guy the Oilers didn't. :-)

That would be nice but I have to disagee. The Oilers have the worst defence in the league thats where the help is needed most. I would go with Larsson.

If thats the direction they go I won't be complaining I still prefer the defenceman though.

Isn't this like the Tavares v Hedman question a few years ago...I'd go with the #1 center.
