Cameron next up in Ottawa's Bermuda Triangle?

08:25 AM ET 04.11 | Cory Clouston is out, meaning Bryan Murray has gone through three coaches during his tenure. Clouston, who was hired on Feb. 2, 2009, lasted the longest, but John Paddock and Craig Hartsburg each didn't last a year. Recent history could give pause to anyone who might be considering applying for the job, as the franchise is becoming the Bermuda Triangle for NHL coaches. But, with only 30 of these head-coaching jobs available, there will be no shortage of candidates willing to put their neck on the line. Here's an early look at who could be in the running: Dave Cameron, head coach, Mississauga St. Michael's Majors: He has to be a front-runner because of his long service to Ottawa Senators owner Eugene Melnyk, who also owns the Ontario Hockey League's Majors. Cameron is hard-working, personable, knowledgeable, and accomplished.

Did anybody at T&R get the memo that the playoffs are here? I don't get their obsession with losers!

Melnyk's kinda guy. As the World Juniors showed us he's a proven loser.

I think they just wanted to run the story so they could put that pic up one more time.

This is why Sid is having trouble getting clearance. He keeps grabbing the Doctor around the head and whacking him until the Doc passes out. Sid's been OK for 6 weeks but the Doc is concussed.

All goofy comments aside, the playoffs would be a better time if Sid got back. I'd be a little concerned however. He's got a long career in front of him and I would take no chances with him. Maybe 10-12 minutes a game to start. Increase it by a couple of shifts each night? Playoffs are going to be rougher than the regular season and it's kind of hard to figure out how much to play him right now. That, and the Pens have been playing awfully well for some time without him.

He'll fit right in then.

This hiring shows that Melnyk learned SOMETHING, at least. Not to trust Murray with hiring his coaches, because this deal was done back in December, which was why Clouston got to wait out the season. Melnyk didn't want to bother with an interim knowing he was bringing Cameron in.

He's a heck of a hockey man who may come into the job as Memorial Cup Champion. His team made a nice 3rd period comeback against Sudbury's Wolves last night, in Sudbury, and they look good. Plus, they're the hosts. He'll be a good coach, we'll just have to see if his GM gives him a shot to prove it.

It's good to see Melnyk trusts Bryan Murray, b/c after all, his drafts/trades/signings have all worked out so well.

I think Murray has Melnyk by the cojones with something. There's no other explanation for the 3 year extenssion.
