Season's over, but Oilers still want one win

08:27 AM ET 04.11 | The Oilers can hope to keep at least one winning streak intact. If the only thing left to win is the NHL draft lottery, then there's no point in finishing second, declared Edmonton Oilers general manager Steve Tambellini. "I just think if you're in that position, you want to be in control of the draft, and we're hoping that we win the lottery," he said on Sunday. Tambellini will be in Toronto on Tuesday for the lottery which will determine which team picks first in the NHL???s June entry draft. The Oilers, with their 30th-place finish, have the best odds of securing the No. 1 pick. They cannot finish lower than second. Last April, the Oilers took Taylor Hall with the first selection while the Boston Bruins followed up with the drafting of Tyler Seguin.

Or they might trade down and take a couple picks in the second round. Everyone knows that's where all the talent is.

Still might happen Roamer but Burkie's just signed a 1st line center out of the KHL to play with Kessel.

Alexei Teeoff.

Leafs SUCK....they cant make the play-offs since they cant buy any player they want..only Toronto and Florida have yet to make the play-offs in the CAP world.

can't believe this is even a story...Bettman must have had something to do with it that's how bad it stinks

I'm hoping that this time next year the story about the Oilers is not about who they are going to take first overall again.

If who they're keying on still figures to be available fourth or fifth that makes sense...

Who is this Hartikanen kid? He seems to have some game. Where did he come from? And, please don't say from Finland, OK? That much I can guess!

Have you watched a lot of baseball since the '94 strike? I actually went to see a game live on the day before they went on strike. Haven't seen so much as looked at a half- inning of play since. I don't even watch highlights on ESPN anymore. And MLB can thank Mr Fehr and that lousy used-car salesman they have as a commissioner for that.
