08:13 AM ET 04.12 | Much like the Red Sox weren't going to lose every game, their opponents this past weekend will again hit the baseball. But what about Derek Jeter? ... Jeter is 36 and coming off the worst statistical season of his career. He made a much ballyhooed adjustment to his swing, then ditched it and decided he isn't talking about it anymore. Of course, there isn't much to talk about these days. Jeter is hitting .206 after nine games. Worse yet, as many observers have pointed out, it's a soft .206. ... Manager Joe Girardi is not yet ready to drop Jeter down in the lineup, among other options, but did set a timeline for his period of judgment: 100 at-bats. That's certainly reasonable, and would take Jeter into the end of this month.

If Girardi had any cubes at all he would Put him at the 8 or 9 spot in that line up where he belongs.

News to me as well.

With the money their paying him they're not going to sit him. Certainly dropping him down in a stacked line up isn't going to hurt if others are hitting but right now they aren't Tiexiera was 0 -15 against the Sox and Posada wasn't much better. We're only 10 games into the season so way too early to panic.
