08:24 AM ET 04.14 | A dozen runs allowed in as many ninth innings, plus four blown saves by left-hander Matt Thornton does not a happy manager make. "I don't have a closer," Guillen said, tipping his chair over backward as he walked away in a huff from a shorter-than-usual postgame news conference. Thornton was supposed to be the guy, but after failing in three opportunities to save a game, Guillen gave prized rookie Chris Sale a shot Wednesday against the Oakland Athletics at U.S. Cellular Field. Protecting a three-run lead, Sale gave up hits to the three hitters he faced ... and all of them scored. The A's added three more runs in the 10th against Thornton for a stunning 7-4 victory. "When you have a bad bullpen, that's what happens," Guillen said. "That's the third time it happened. I wish I knew who I can bring in for the ninth."

It's a frustrating situation when you have no one that steps up.

Some guys just don't have the cajones to pitch the 9th inning. Ozzie better come up with a plan B fast.

You can find a reliever in your bullpen or trade for one. It is way too early to panic.

Had a whole off season and spring training to find someone so.........

QUOTE:

Why would a manager leave Thorton in for a 2nd inning after he already blew the save? Is he **** ****?

Just Ozzie being Ozzie.

QUOTE(#5):

Despite the blown saves, the Sox are playing relatively well. Just wait it out.

Other than the "not winning" part. That part isn't going so well.
